Sensory Awareness Activity Day

On Thursday 2nd of April to celebrate National Autism Week, Milton Parks’s star centre had a sensory awareness activity day. All of the rooms of the star centre had different sensory activities taking place and all the residents or Milton Park were invited to get involved!

It was fantastic to see so many residents taking part in the fun. The activities included a sensory relaxation room where residents could sit on bean bags, listen to relaxing music/stories and have relaxing mood lighting taking place.  Different arts and craft sessions took place in the art room.

There were also a number of different foods being served in the canteen which included a combination of crunchy, squidgy and soft foods to give residents a variety of different textures.  Residents squeezed and crunched meringue and fruit to create their own Eton messes.

The events on the day were brilliant! Well done to everyone involved for organising the activities. It was fantastic to see so many residents having a great time trying new activities and raising awareness for Autism at the same time.
